Ugly Botany: Victorian Sexuality

The Victorians didn't really understand sexuality or they saw it as something perverse and unsettling. The presentation of sexuality as underlined by my book is that, in contrast to society in the time, is that "Empire was just as perverse as sexuality, even that of two people who were married." You have two people here who should have been models of society, a nurse and a professor, going at it like rabbits.
